If you've been depressed before you know that it doesn't matter how good your life is, sometimes the brain chemistry just shifts. We live in the Northeast and going without sun takes its toll at this time of year on many people. My husband just got out his Happy Lightbox" last night! When depression is mild extra light exposure, meditation, reading or listening to motivational books, exercise, B complex vitamins, St. John's Wort etc, can help. If you continue to spiral down go to the doc and get on an antidepressant. There are so many good meds now, there's no need to suffer with depression anymore:) Just my two cents!

hi. Just discovered your blog from a comment of Motherhood Uncensored.

I'm looking for a job myself after being self-employed as a piano teacher for a few years. After that I was staging houses to sell, but the real estate market has tanked and people are reducing the prices of their houses so much that they don't want to pay someone to declutter, redesign, and stage it. Plus I'm in a part of the country where staging is still a pretty new thing.

I'm not sure how far you are into the full-time hours yet since I haven't read all of your posts, but I did have a bit of advice if you're interested. It concerns meals and time-savers.

We're pretty health conscious here, and even though we don't count calories, we avoid HFCS, dyes, hormones, antibiotics, and other nasties in our food. I spend a fortune at the supermarket doing this, but I figure it's worth it in the long run.

But to save time during the week, perhaps these things may help (if you're not already doing them, and I apologize if I sound patronizing in any way. Once you figure something out, you want to tell everyone to help them out too.)

1. Take an hour or two on the weekend (you have to make yourself) and pre-chop onions, wash and chop veggies, and mix dry ingredients for baked things.

2. During down time (even at work) plan meals a week at a time. This allows you to buy in bulk if possible and put it to use without throwing things out. For example, part of the spinach you buy would be for Tuesday nights sauteed spinach and shallots side dish (or whatever) and the rest would be for a salad for Thursday's lunch. I actually print a calender and do this. I write in pencil and can always change it. Part of the dinnertime drugery is just deciding what to cook.

I have tons more, but I don't want to just throw stuff at you that you can't use. For example, if you don't eat meat, I would leave out the "things to do with leftover roast chicken".

Have you enrolled in a dependent care pre-tax flexible spending account? Or the health care one? I don't use the child care one since mine are older, but the health one has saved us a TON of money.

I could talk all day about this stuff. Sorry to go on and on in your comments.

Sorry, I meant following your wrestling blog. I've been following this one ever since you did that post on his. I'd forget my own head if it wasn't screwed on.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Your husband and are blog-buddies, I actually discovered your blog thanks to the guest post you did on his about girl gamers. Girl gamer who loves wrestling? Seems he's hit the jackpot!

I'm going to start following your blog. Just after I get through watching last night's RAW (it comes on at 2am here so I record it. There's a repeat on Friday at 9pm but I can't wait that long!)
